On April 18th, Ivano-Frankivsk National Medical University hosted a meeting with representatives of the IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria Hospital, the Italian charitable organization Missione Calcutta, and the UGCC Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese. The purpose of this event is to foster cooperation.

The delegation included Father Vitalii Maksymiv, Father Ivan Stefurak, Head of the Information Department of the UGCC Ivano-Frankivsk Archdiocese, Vira Bila, representatives of the Italian charitable organization Missione Calcutta in Ukraine - Marco Iazzolino, Vice President of the Italian charitable organization Missione Calcutta, Dorian Somma, and a representative of the IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria Hospital, Alexandra Paddovani. The delegation discussed with the administration of IFNMU the possibility of developing joint projects.

With each passing day, the number of people in Ukraine in need of rehabilitation or palliative care is increasing. Italian colleagues proposed that the university participate in the development and implementation of a project for providing rehabilitation and palliative care at home.

"A doctor should not only diagnose and treat the patient correctly but also be humane and compassionate," says Roman Yatsyshyn.

It is worth noting that the Italian government intends to allocate funds for rehabilitation programs, so we hope for fruitful cooperation and further support for Ukraine in these challenging times.
